TRAINING METHODOLOGY

This highly practical and results-oriented program is based on adult learning concept. The facilitator will give plenty of input and then help participants to make sense of the themes through discussion and practice. It incorporates short inspiring demonstrations, role play and much practice to enhance learning. There will be ample time for Q&A, discussions with ‘return to work’ action planning. The course will reinforce key concepts within an inspiring and engaging learning environment.

Pre & Post course assessments will be used to measure the effectiveness of this training and measure the skill and ability of participants.

    • Understand business commercials and how to create effective strategies that align with these
    • Minimizing risk – reduce poor strategic choices and failure to execute the organization’s vision and strategic plans
    • Know typical critical business challenges or PAINs

Module 2 - Being Commercial

  • Description:

    On Day Two we look at commercial realities that entrepreneurial leaders should demonstrate

    • Commercial responsibilities of executives
    • Commercial challenges and typical solutions
    • Key commercial/financial terms
    • Knowing what’s important to your stakeholders and keeping them on side

Module 3 - Creating Value

  • Description:

    On Day Three we reflect on current/emerging entrepreneurial trends

  • KeyTopics:

    • Being a leader who achieves business advantage
    • Challenge established thinking (that’s bad)
    • Keep up to date with business trends
    • Contribute to the business strategy with a clear view of the impact commercial business results
    • Understand commercial risks and demystification of common commercial buzzwords into understandable common sense language

Module 4 - Managing Financial and Strategic Performance

  • Description:

    On Day Four we look at the first of ten characteristics across your organization to know you are adding value

  • KeyTopics:

    • Produce Total Shareholder Returns (TSRs) in the top tier vs. peers
    • Help your organization and its business units meet internal and external financial performance commitments linked to achievement of the organizational goals
    • Ensure each business unit has a superior business model that results in value-creating differences relative to peers
    • Create a superior organization strategy that creates competitive advantage from its portfolio of business units
    • Help each business unit to manage customer value and cost-to-serve to maximise economic value (EV)

Module 5 - Managing Organizational Performance

  • Description:

    On Day Five we look at the final five characteristics interventions to improve organizational performance

  • KeyTopics:

    • Create a high performance culture where teams have superior capabilities to manage for value and are rewarded for value creation
    • Create strategy development and agenda management processes ensure that all decisions are fact-based and value-maximising
    • Employ a rigorous business performance management process to ensure delivery against agreed strategies and performance commitments
    • Create a structure that establishes clear accountabilities and line of sight for “value creation”
    • Manage an organisation’s use of management information and technology creates distinctive competitive advantage
