COURSE OVERVIEW

ETAP software provides engineers, operators, and managers a platform for continuous functionality from modeling to operation. ETAP’s model-driven architecture enables ‘Faster than Real-Time’ operations – where data and analytics meet to provide predictive behavior, pre-emptive action, and situational intelligence to the owner-operator. ETAP training is a practical DEMO software session to learn about the latest features and capabilities of ETAP enterprise solution software for electric power systems. Get the most of this powerful software platform by increasing your knowledge of ETAP. Sessions are presented with extensive experience in ETAP and power systems.

The purpose of the course is to provide hands-on experience in using ETAP software to model power distribution networks and carry out various studies.ETAP provides a solution for power system design, analysis, and operation needs. ETAP offers a comprehensive suite of analysis modules that can be configured to suit specific requirements. This modular approach allows expanding your ETAP system as needed.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Participants attending the programme will:

  • ETAP Program Features and installation requirements
  • ETAP Electric Network components configuration
  • Load Flow Analysis according to IEEE
  • Load Flow Analysis according to IEC
  • Short circuit study according to ANSI / IEEE C37
  • Short circuit study according to IEC
  • Star Analysis / Selectivity-Coordination
  • ETAP Libraries and reporting according to ANSI & IEC devices

TARGET AUDIENCE

This course is intended for anyone who must perform calculations, provide settings or approve the work performed by others. The trainee should be a graduate engineer or have equivalent practical work experience in electrical power systems. i.e.

  • Consulting Engineers.
  • Electrical Engineers.
  • Project Engineers.
  • Maintenance Engineers.
  • Commissioning & Testing Engineers.

TRAINING METHODOLOGY

The course is designed to maximize delegate benefit from the outset. The goals of each participant are discussed to ensure their needs are fulfilled as far as possible. Questions are encouraged throughout particularly at the daily wrap-up sessions. This provides opportunities for participants to discuss specific issues and if possible find appropriate solutions. Case studies are employed to highlight particular points and appropriate video materials are used to illustrate particular conditions. In general, the 80/20 rule is followed (80% of the course period is dedicated to hands-on ETAP software and 20% to lecturing technical backgrounds).

Pre & Post course assessments will be used to measure the effectiveness of this training.
