Course Overview

The Electrical Transient Analysis Program (ETAP) software provides engineers, operators, and managers with a platform for continuous functionality, from modelling to operation. ETAP’s model-driven architecture enables ‘Faster than Real-Time’ operations – where data and analytics meet to provide predictive behaviour, pre-emptive action, and situational intelligence to the owner-operator. ETAP training is a practical DEMO software session to learn about the latest features and capabilities of ETAP enterprise solution software for electric power systems. Get the most out of this powerful software platform by increasing your knowledge of ETAP. Sessions are presented with extensive experience in ETAP and power systems.

The purpose of the Electrical Transient Analysis Program (ETAP) course is to provide hands-on experience in using ETAP software to model power distribution networks and carry out various studies. ETAP offers a comprehensive solution for power system design, analysis, and operation requirements. ETAP offers a comprehensive suite of analysis modules that can be configured to suit specific requirements. This modular approach allows you to expand your ETAP system as needed.

Target Audience

This course is intended for anyone who must perform calculations, provide settings or approve the work performed by others. The trainee should be a graduate engineer or have equivalent practical work experience in electrical power systems. i.e.

Training Methodology

The course is designed to maximise delegate benefit from the outset. The goals of each participant are discussed to ensure their needs are fulfilled as far as possible. Questions are encouraged throughout, particularly at the daily wrap-up sessions. This provides participants with opportunities to discuss specific issues and, if possible, find suitable solutions. Case studies are used to highlight specific points, and relevant video materials are employed to illustrate particular conditions. In general, the 80/20 rule is followed: 80% of the course period is dedicated to hands-on training with ETAP software, and 20% to lectures on technical backgrounds.

Pre & Post course assessments will be used to measure the effectiveness of this training.
