Well-test design and analysis are pivotal in reservoir management, production optimisation, and the oil and gas industry decision-making processes. They provide valuable insights into reservoir behaviour, help optimise production strategies, and contribute to maximising hydrocarbon recovery while minimising operational risks and costs.


This Well Test Design and Analysis course stresses the practical application of well-test theory to design and interpret pressure transient tests. An integrated approach to well-test interpretation is emphasized throughout the course. Class exercises involving simple spreadsheets and SaphirTM software applications will reinforce the concepts illustrated by synthetic data sets and actual field examples. The participants will gain knowledge of well-testing principles, interpretation techniques, design aspects, analysis, report creation, and evaluation of results. It will help them to participate intelligently in the well-testing process.


Upon completion of the Well Test Design and Analysis course, participants will be able to gain knowledge in:

This Well Test Design and Analysis training course is helpful for various professionals working with reservoir management and simulations, including production engineers, reservoir engineers, geoscientists, and field personnel involved in designing and interpreting well tests. It is also useful for those who want to understand well-testing principles and interpretation.


Our highly practical experiential learning method is results-oriented based on an adult learning concept. The program will be interactive and practical. There will be work in groups and pairs as well as individual exercises and everyone will get an opportunity to discuss their issues with Advanced Well Test Design and Analysis. Each day will end with time to produce an action plan for delegates’ continuing development. Kappa SaphirTM and PIETM software will be used to give practical exercises.

Pre & Post course assessments will be used to measure the effectiveness of this training.
