Course Overview

Offshore structures play a multifaceted role in supporting energy production, transportation, research, defense, tourism, and environmental stewardship. Their significance extends beyond their immediate functions to encompass broader economic, social, and environmental impacts on coastal communities and global society.

The Offshore Structure Design, Construction, Inspection and Maintenance course aims to give participants a thorough and current knowledge of offshore structures engineering in general and steel jackets in particular. All of the knowledge regarding fixed offshore structure platforms will be illustrated in this course. We will go into great detail about the fundamental design and loads that impact the offshore structure platform using the most recent structural analysis technique, pushover structure analysis. There will be examples of how to choose the right platform configuration and layout. This course will cover the building and maintenance of the mature structure. This seminar will give the most recent approach for risk-based underwater inspection.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of the Offshore Structure Design, Construction, Inspection and Maintenance course, the delegates will be able to:

Have a great understanding of the planning, concept development, design, construction, installation, operation, inspection and maintenance of Offshore Structures
Provide participants with an understanding of the design, construction and risk based maintenance for offshore platforms, specifically, the theory and process of such design
Determine new technology for material of surface and subsurface structures
Understand the use of current, applicable engineering methods in the design of fixed offshore platform
Familiarize yourself with the most updated inspection and maintenance techniques for offshore structures
Know the different types of offshore structures including their advantages and disadvantages and design requirements
Recognize the codes of inspection and identify the types of preventive and recommended practices for maintenance in offshore structures

Target Audience

This course is intended for Senior Engineers, project engineers, design engineers, construction engineers and project managers from oil & gas companies, construction companies, design and installation companies and regulatory authorities. Also, those newly qualified, have recently moved into offshore structural engineering or hold broad responsibilities that include offshore structures.

Training Methodology

This training seminar will utilize various proven adult learning techniques to ensure maximum understanding, comprehension and retention of the information presented. The seminar is designed as a blended environment of presentation; workshops; group work; practical exercises; field application/ analysis; and general discussions.

Pre & Post course assessments will be used to measure the effectiveness of this training.
