COURSE OVERVIEW

Flow assurance is a technical study that is used to ensure that hydrocarbon fluids are transferred economically from the reservoir to the end user over the life of a project in any environment. Flow assurance analysis is a well-known crucial component of the design and operation of subsea Oil & Gas systems. Optimum flow assurance design and operation requires the evaluation of all disciplines interfacing flow assurance, as well as careful consideration of the interactions between the fluid, reservoir, wells, pipelines, surface facilities, and the surrounding environment.

This Flow Assurance Training will help the participants gain knowledge of pertinent flow regimes that impact the integrity of piping systems and control strategies. You will learn to recognize the fundamental theories behind pipeline corrosion and the available defences. You will also know how pipeline systems are affected by various aggressive environmental conditions. Sand management is also covered in the course.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Participants attending the Flow Assurance Training programme will:

  • Understand the major problems associated with flow assurance, such as Asphaltenes, Paraffins, Emulsion, Scales, Corrosions & Hydrates
  • Review the conventional methods and new approaches to prevent, control, and remediate the major problem causes to assure the flow.
  • Understand the latest technologies, including their advantages and disadvantages
  • Identify the causes and mechanisms of flow impediment.
  • Learn the methods and technologies that can be applied for prevention, control, and remediation.
  • Understand the application of relevant pipeline maintenance and cleaning techniques

TARGET AUDIENCE

This Flow Assurance Training is suitable for a wide range of professionals but will greatly benefit Flow assurance engineers, field production operations staff, field chemist staff, surface facility design engineers, and surface facility operations engineers.

TRAINING METHODOLOGY

This training utilizes a variety of proven adult learning techniques to ensure maximum understanding, comprehension, and retention of the information presented. The programme will be interactive and practical. There will be work in groups and pairs as well as individual exercises and everyone will get an opportunity to discuss his issues.

Pre & Post course assessments will be used to measure the effectiveness of this training.
